The growth of mobile technology has changed the lives of many across the world. No longer are people centred to one location. We can now communicate with others from across the globe with a simple slide of the finger. What does this mean for the future though? How has mobile technology benefited the average person and what does the future hold for such an ever changing device?
What’s Available?
In an arena where change is a constant, it can at times be difficult to keep up with the latest product on the market. 2013 has already been cited as the year many mobile device manufacturers plan to go head to head to see who emerges as top dog. The Samsung Galaxy III has already taken it’s first blow against the ever popular iPhone with its 4.8 inch display and voice control activations rivalling Apples siri. Never fear though, rumours in the pipeline suggest that the iphone 6.1 is just around the corner, with their tail possibly between their legs, be sure of some surprises. What does this all mean for the consumer though? Choice is the answer, the past year saw mobile devices dramatically reduce in price meaning that everyone from the high flyer in the city to their Gran had a smartphone.
The Benefits
Businesses across the globe have been the main beneficiary of mobile technology. Ten years ago when all office communications were simply fixated to ‘the office’, businesses can now reply to emails and conduct projects all from a remote base. The shackles of conventional office routines have been completed uprooted allowing for a more flexible working patterns for employees, surely a good thing for the average working person, right? Not only have modern devices enabled such practises to be conducted, but the drastic improvement in communication networks such as 3G and wireless have made it more accessible for even the smallest business to jump on the mobile technology bandwagon. With the whole world and his dog now having access to some form of mobile device, now is the best time to actually get involved.
The Future
With more wifi hotspots popping up across the UK, expect more organisations looking to develop their own unique mobile device. Obviously the big players such as iPhone and Samsung will remain chief whips with their popular devices. From here though we are more than likely to see the price come even further down for smart phones and tablets (this meaning more people looking for the nearest iPhone repair centre as they drop their phone once again). Hopefully the push towards bigger memory space and removable memory cards will be an area exploited by the big players in the mobile technology world, therefore giving people an alternative option for storage.
